About the Role
Join a high-impact team supporting the manufacturing and integration of advanced space vehicle satellites. As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in the hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of cutting-edge space hardware. This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to lead complex tasks, gain cross-functional expertise, and support mission-critical projects with national significance.
Responsibilities
- Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical equipment and systems
- Assist in designing, building, and testing equipment for space vehicle satellite manufacturing
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, manuals, and written/verbal instructions
- Follow defined manufacturing processes and paperless work instructions (MES)
- Perform cable/harness installation, routing, and mate/demate operations
- Assemble and test space hardware, including ESD-sensitive components
- Conduct system-level hardware integration, alignment, and testing (deployments, environmental tests)
- Operate rigging equipment, overhead cranes, and forklifts safely
- Support field operations for launch vehicle integration
- Lead complex tasks, contribute to pre-task briefings, and mentor teammates as required
- Move equipment up to 45 pounds and perform repetitive manufacturing motions with high situational awareness
Required Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ years relevant experience, or Associate’s degree with 2+ years experience
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly, cable management, system integration, and hardware testing
- Experience with MES or paperless work instructions
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, nights, weekends, and alternate shifts
- U.S. Citizenship and active Secret-level security clearance
Preferred Skills
- Space hardware manufacturing experience
- Familiarity with ESD protocols and sensitive component handling
- Forklift and rigging equipment certification
- Experience in launch vehicle integration support
