Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for an Associate Engineer or Engineer (Tech Ops Lead) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Engineering organization. This position may be located at our Melbourne, FL or Palmdale, CA sites and cannot be performed remotely.

The Engineering Technical Operations individual reports to the Vice President (VP) of Engineering for the Strike Division and is responsible for execution and integration of Engineering homeroom operations, to include engineering estimating, strategy, and resource planning initiatives to meet current and future program execution needs. The candidate is responsible for oversight and management of the operational aspects of ongoing projects and will serve as the liaison between Chief Engineer office, integrated product teams, and other functional areas. This candidate will work as part of a team on all program reporting and executive level presentations. This individual should possess team building capabilities and have strong interpersonal skills. The candidate for this position will be required to gain knowledge of industry practices and standards and demonstrate the skill and ability to perform professional tasks. Must possess solid organization abilities and be a motivated, flexible team player. Some travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitation of meetings, resulting actions, and any associated deliverables, including senior leadership meetings
  • Drive common people processes across Engineering teams; ensure execution of human resource management functions inclusive of staffing fulfillment, redeployment, and release processes; report status including analysis of program staffing, growth, skills projections, and direct labor rates (DLR)
  • Coordinate with homeroom, program, and other functional counterparts to achieve the Engineering annual operating plan (AOP) and long-range goals and objectives
  • Provide guidance on technical training and skills development initiatives across Engineering and coordinate broader skills development initiatives across all Engineering to influence outcomes
  • Coordinate proposal functional reviews and approval sign offs by the VP Strike Engineering and/or Chief Engineers, as applicable
  • Coordinate, author, and deliver weekly and monthly status reports to sector Engineering and the division
  • Execute projects in support of engineering as tasked by the VP of Engineering

This role may be filled as an Associate Engineer (Level 1) or Engineer (Level 2) based on the qualifications outlined below.

Basic Qualifications Associate Engineer (Level 1)
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in engineering or project/program operations
  • Experience in developing and managing processes across large organizations
  • Active U.S. government Secret clearance (or higher) that has been granted or renewed within the last 6 years or is under continuous evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) as determined by business needs
  • Use of Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and SharePoint
Engineer (Level 2)
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in engineering or project/program operations, OR a Master of Science in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in engineering or project/program operations
  • Experience in developing and managing processes across large organizations
  • Active U.S. government Secret clearance (or higher) that has been granted or renewed within the last 6 years or is under continuous evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) as determined by business needs
  • Use of Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience with the NGAS resource management process inclusive of staffing, redeployment, and release processes
  • Previous experience supporting broad initiatives led by VP or Director
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as project management, analytical, planning and presentation skills
Pay Ranges by Location and Job Level

CA Level 1: $69,400 - $104,000

CA Level 2: $83,400 - $125,200

FL Level 1: $59,900 - $89,900

FL Level 2: $72,100 - $108,100

Primary Level Salary Range: $59,900.00 - $104,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $125,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
