Job Description:  

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Associate, Hardware Configuration Management to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining configuration management processes for complex hardware systems through the entire product lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and control of hardware assets. This role provides additional as-required support to the design and program management teams as a subject matter expert for analyses, consultations, special topic discussions, tools support, DevOps support, and other tasking as required. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to quality and continuous process improvement.

Essential Functions: 

  • Implement and maintain hardware configuration management (CM) processes according to industry standards and program requirements.
  • Manage configuration documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), hardware configuration records, drawings, specifications, and change notices.
  • Coordinate and process configuration changes, ensuring rigorous control, impact analysis, and proper approval workflows.
  • Facilitate configuration control board (CCB) meetings and participate in reviews of engineering changes.
  • Track hardware baselines, inventory, and version control through product development, testing, and production phases.
  • Support audits and hardware configuration data reviews for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in hardware configurations.
  • Utilize industry-standard configuration management software and tools for managing product data and maintaining CM repositories.
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or outside of normal business hours as needed to meet deadlines and business requirements.

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly is required

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of relevant configuration management experience, preferably with hardware or complex systems in aerospace, defense, or electronics industries.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management standards (e.g., EIA-649, ANSI, MIL-STD-973).
  • Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Configuration Management (CM) tools such as Windchill, Teamcenter, or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Certification in configuration management (CMPIC, CMII, or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting government, aerospace, or defense programs is highly desirable.
  • Experience reading and interpreting Statements of Work, Drawings, Schematics, and Parts Lists.
  • Experience in continuous process improvement such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Expert time management ability and sense of urgency in meeting critical deadlines
