Duties:

  • Accountably driving (Support) all technical files, communication with safety agencies, monitoring the processes of creation of new national and international standards and requirements.
  • Strong communications skills with different Systems BU stakeholders in the US and with counterpart on the European side
  • Guides Engineering teams in the completion of certification work within a diverse and complex product portfolio.
  • Strong knowledge of the safety and EMC requirements and test methods for scientific and industrial equipment in North America (UL, CSA) and Europe (IEC, EN).
  • Involvement in the design verification testing and safety agency testing including Software, Hardware, and Electromagnetic Compatibility.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends in product safety and EMC and educate engineers on updated/new regulations as they become relevant for IPG devices.
  • Participate in Risk Assessment activities including the development of Hazard Analysis and FMEA's for safety and compliance related risks and mitigations.
  • Provide guidance in the interpretation and application of the appropriate national and international safety requirements.
  • Participate in early stages of new product development and changes to existing devices.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of strategies to secure and maintain national and international safety and EMC certifications (UL, cUL, CE in accordance with Machinery, Low Voltage and EMC Directives) for all new and existing industrial products.
  • Specify or provides assistance in the selection of new and alternate components.
  • Specify system test apparatus and equipment for pre-compliance evaluations.
  • Participate in assessing reliability of components, equipment, and processes.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or related field, preferably Master.
  • Required 5 years (8-10years preferred) in compliance engineering, obtaining various safety certifications such as UL, cUL, CE (in accordance with Machinery, Low Voltage and EMC Directives).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and experience with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels
  • Project management experience
