About the Role
Wavelynx makes access control readers - the hardware and firmware that decide whether a door opens. We're a PE-backed company scaling fast, and we're building the engineering team that will take us there.
As a Sr Regulatory / Compliance Engineer, you will partner with RF/hardware engineering, firmware engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to develop regulatory strategies and support EMC/RF/UL validation.
  • You will work with external test laboratories to ensure products achieve certification readiness and meet global regulatory requirements
  • Define EMC.F.L and environmental regulatory requirements for global markets (FCC, CE, IC, RED, LVD, IEC).
  • Develop compliance strategies early in the product design lifecycle to minimize certification risk
  • Develop, publish, and maintain a Regulatory Compliance Roadmap - with testing budgets - showing pending updates to existing standards, and relevant new standards being developed
  • Review schematics and recommend filtering, shielding, grounding, and ESD protection solutions
  • Plan and complete pre-compliance testing, including radiated, conducted emissions, surge, ESD, Radiated immunity, conducted immunity, and environmental
  • Build & document EMC test setups, including cabling, grounding, and support equipment
  • Point of Contact for customer regulatory and global compliance inquiries
  • Compile and maintain all formal compliance documentation, ensuring all global certifications remain active and audit-ready

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, RF Engineering, or related field with 7+ years of experience
  • Experience with EMC compliance requirements and test methods for the test cases, such as radiated and conducted emissions, immunity testing, and evaluation of product functional performance
  • Knowledge of component selection and materials affecting EMC.L performance
  • Experience developing work instructions and test setups for external laboratories
  • Proficiency with lab equipment (spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, oscilloscopes, near-field probes, LISNs) for bench-level troubleshooting and mitigation

Preferred Qualifications:
  • EMC/Safety Specification Knowledge: UL294, EN 62311, EN 301-489-XX, EN 50130-4, EN 55032, EN 55035.
  • Radio Transmitting Specification Knowledge: EN 300 328 (BLE) and EN 300 330 (NFC/Prox).
