YOUR MISSION

We are excited for an Associate Director, Human Resources to join our Game Development HR Business Partner team in Irvine! Reporting to the Senior Director, HR - Franchise People Officer at Blizzard Entertainment's HQ, this person will contribute to the company's performance by encouraging an organization where people are motivated to do their best work. You will provide strategic solutions that directly enable the outcome of the company-wide objectives.

This person will partner closely with executives in Irvine and across Blizzard to advance people strategies and solutions that are aligned with short and long-term organization and operational goals. In addition, they lead and partner with centralized teams to carry out HRBP responsibilities across: HR strategy, Organizational Design, Workforce Planning, Leadership Development & Succession Planning, Performance Management, Employee Relations, & Policy Interpretation.

This position requires a data-driven, analytical, collaborative and influential HR professional who has phenomenal people skills, can work effectively across a highly matrixed environment and manage multi needs concurrently with discretion and an attention to detail.

Priorities may evolve in a dynamic environment, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Lead, facilitate and continuously improve the delivery of people strategies across: organizational design & planning, employee on-boarding, employee communications, learning & development, employee relations, benefits, compensation, ethics, and employee engagement.

  • Ensure ownership and accountability in the effective management, implementation, and maintenance of key beats in the annual calendar: performance management, succession planning & talent reviews, and total rewards processes.

  • Partner directly with our CoEs leadership team to analyze, interpret, and report on people data and evidence-based insights to inform organizational goals, needs, and adjustments.

  • Provide guidance and input on workforce planning to support business strategy and actively participate in annual budget planning/staffing forecasting processes.

  • Partner with Warcraft HR leadership on reporting and special initiatives as needed, translating business goals into integrated, actionable people and talent strategies supported by initiatives that help grow the business and deliver results.

PLAYER PROFILE

This role requires a leader who demonstrates strong integrity, sound judgement, and ethical decision-making.

They will be an experienced people leader with strong strategic, operational and leadership capabilities continuously applied to improve the company's culture. Additionally, they should possess strong attention to detail, initiative, and critical thinking skills while serving as a hands-on leader and collaborator.

Specific requirements include:

  • 10+ years of dynamic experience in all aspects of Human Resources

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree in Human Resources, business, or related field preferred

  • Experience leading HR strategy within matrixed organizations, with demonstrated impact across the employee lifecycle including experience in labor relations or M&A

  • Organization design and development experience, including strong change management, for a sophisticated and transforming business organization

  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing people decisions through trust, credibility, and data-informed insights

  • Thorough knowledge and experience with modern HR structure and practices, including HR business partnering, shared services, and centers of expertise (e.g., talent acquisition, talent management and development, compensation, benefits, etc.)

  • Creativity and innovative thinking, high emotional intelligence, strong analytical skills, and strong critical thinking skills with a willingness to take reasonable risk and thoughtfully challenge the status quo

  • Demonstrated initiative in a fast-moving environment; a proactive problem solver who leverages a hands-on, collaborative approach

  • Data informed decision making; applies data driven thinking to solve people, team, and organizational challenges with integrity, ownership, consistency and scalability

  • Exceptional project and process management skills with a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic business environment

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $114,120.00 - $211,122.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role's range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
