Responsibilities

This Associate Director of Payroll will provide support for system-wide payroll matters. Reporting to the Corporate Payroll Director, this position is primarily responsible for leading the corporate payroll team in system maintenance, compliance audits, payroll integration for new acquisitions, and system-wide training to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. This role will interact with payroll staff, Human Resources, legal department and various department leaders regarding payroll matters.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' management experience in payroll operations.
  • Experience in large organization setting, including multiple sites/facilities and payrolls.
  • Strong knowledge of Wage and Hour Guidelines, payroll tax regulations, unions, company policies, and implementing payroll systems.
  • Extensive knowledge/experience in California pay practice requirements and PAGA matters.
  • Extensive knowledge of Health Care Payroll practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and organizational skills.
  • Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience with laws and payroll practices preferred (California and other states).

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
