The In-N-Out Burger HR Talent and Organization Team has an excellent opportunity for an Organizational Development Partner, located in the *Irvine, CA Office. The Organizational Development Partner reports to the Organizational Development Manager.
In this role, you will partner with internal customers to identify the skills, competencies, and performance outcomes that move their growth strategy forward. This is a consultative role at its core and the ability to understand root cause even if it is not clear at first is paramount to the partnership.
Using complex data through engagement surveys, 360s and leadership assessments, development planning, or succession and talent review, we benchmark against best practices, while understanding what the internal customer can truly implement. Our team aims to provide leaders clear understanding of their people and their operation to equip them to make informed decisions.
Strategic curiosity is pivotal to this role. Requests are not taken at face value; we dig for the real question underneath it, then work in lockstep with the internal customer to build the solution together. As In-N-Out continues to grow, this work becomes more important. Our team demonstrates strong stewardship of its people, process, and culture, to help the organization build the capability it needs to support the growth.

General Responsibilities
  • Supports the identification and execution of critical workforce requirements (e.g., skills, competencies, and performance outcomes) necessary to achieve current and future business results.
  • Maintains a system to regularly analyze current organizational processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Supports research and analysis of organizational processes in comparison to market benchmarks.
  • Provides support for the design and implementation of strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Maintains and executes performance appraisal systems to support organizational goals and philosophies.
  • Supports the execution of the annual employee engagement surveys and intermittent pulse surveys to assess engagement and the support of culture.
  • Provides and supports framework to equip Leaders to implement action planning based on engagement surveys aligned to workforce requirements and expectations.
  • Supports and executes leadership assessment tools and development planning consistent with organizational culture and goals.
  • Supports succession planning activities including talent assessment, review process, career pathing, identification of future talent, and cross functional growth opportunities.
  • Supports the delivery of regular assessments of organizational effectiveness, performance, development and engagement.

Work Schedule + Benefits

  • Pay Range: $93,500-$110,000/annualized salary
  • The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.
  • Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Department needs may call for occasional overtime

Job Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field (HR or Organizational Management, Communication, Organizational Psychology or Sociology, or similar.)
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in talent and organizational development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a simplified manner.
  • Ability to work independently & collaboratively.
  • Familiar with a variety of OD practices and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing and competing priorities.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Ability to build successful relationships and partnerships across the organization.
  • Strong customer service skills and an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Project Management Tools (Asana is preferred).

Work Location Details
In-N-Out Burger plans to bring its west coast headquarters team back together under one roof by the end of 2029. After maintaining two Southern California office locations for many years, the company will permanently close its Irvine office in 2029 and once again headquarter the company's western territory solely in Baldwin Park, California, where the company was founded in 1948. Newly hired Associates in Irvine will be eligible to participate in the group move to Tennessee with relocation assistance or work from our western headquarters in Baldwin Park, CA, upon its opening in 2029. We are sharing this information early so candidates can make informed decisions while considering a career with In-N-Out Burger.
