Job Overview & Essential Functions
Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck Dealership and Leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Data Engineer. The Data Engineer is responsible for designing and developing data infrastructure to ensure availability of data throughout the organization, as well as implementing systems to integrate (replicate, extract, transform, load) data in batch or near-real-time. The data engineer works with the data architect and business analysts on source-to-target mappings to populate a data warehouse and writes code to transform the data and load it into the target data models. This position is fully in office 5 days a week in Leawood, KS.
  • Develops, tests, and maintains data pipelines and Extract, Transform, Load activities.
  • Prepares data for various business use cases including data science, prescriptive and predictive modeling.
  • Collaborates with the data architect to build and maintain the data systems specified by the data architect's data framework.
  • Designs, builds, and implements enterprise data warehouse and/or data lake for data storage and modeling in downstream analytics and reporting.
  • Creates and maintains data models designed according to best practices which improve performance, flexibility, and accuracy used for analytics and reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Data Science, BI Analytics, or related
  • Proven expertise in data modeling and data transformation
  • Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining
  • Experience working with Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Qlik Replicate, SQL, T-SQL, DBT, Microsoft Fabric, Python/PySpark.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently as
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced changing environment and effectively manage multiple priorities within established time
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate issues and potential resolutions to business units, other team members, project managers, and leaders as necessary.
