Position Overview:
NARA NW is seeking a skilled and collaborative Data Analyst to support the organization's reporting, analytics, and data quality initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining reports, analyzing healthcare data, validating information within EMR systems, and delivering actionable insights that support clinical programs, operational performance, grant reporting, and strategic decision-making.
Working closely with the Data Analytics team, IT staff, program leaders, and external partners, the Data Analyst serves as a key resource for translating business needs into meaningful reports and data solutions. The position requires strong SQL expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences. The successful candidate will become a trusted partner to stakeholders across the organization, helping ensure data accuracy, improve reporting processes, and support data-driven decisions that advance NARA NW's mission.
What you will do:
  • Utilize and support reporting and analytics tools including Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), MS Office Suite, and report-building platforms to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot reporting solutions.
  • Perform SQL database administration tasks, including query development, troubleshooting, database maintenance, server monitoring, and support for system patching and upgrades.
  • Review and analyze electronic health record (EHR/EMR) documentation and data to ensure accuracy, completeness, proper data entry, and alignment with reporting and data mapping requirements.
  • Monitor data quality and investigate discrepancies or reporting issues.
  • Responds to assigned tickets and tasks.
  • Creates and reviews audit reports; assists in compiling statistical data.
  • Ensure Protected Health Information (PHI) security in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 requirements.
  • Communicate project timelines, reporting expectations, and deliverables with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, reporting specifications, and other support materials.
  • Perform project management activities across analytics initiatives, including developing project plans, estimating timelines, securing resources, managing risks/issues, and monitoring progress against goals.
  • Employ statistical analysis techniques to discover trends and derive meaningful analytics.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives, cross-functional projects, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Complete required organizational training and comply with organizational policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience working with healthcare data, electronic medical records (EMR/EHR), or healthcare reporting environments.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
