Job description

Job Summary:
Partners Capital is a Global Investment Office founded in 2001, managing over $75B in assets for various clients. They are seeking a talented data engineer to join their Boston team, responsible for designing and building scalable data pipelines and collaborating with multiple teams to deliver innovative data solutions.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design and build scalable data pipelines integrating internal applications (e.g., OMS/PMS systems) and external data vendors such as Bloomberg and MSCI
โ€ข Analyze and manage complex data structures across both source and target systems
โ€ข Collaborate closely with Data Management, AI, and Software Engineering teams to deliver high-value, business-aligned solutions
โ€ข Work within an agile team of five data engineers led by the Principal Data Engineer, participating in all Scrum ceremonies
โ€ข Develop and maintain data sources using MySQL databases and Python applications
โ€ข Create and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
โ€ข Transform and manage data within Snowflake environments
โ€ข Build AI agents and semantic views leveraging Snowflake Cortex AI
โ€ข Apply data engineering best practices to develop scalable, maintainable, and testable code
โ€ข Solve complex data engineering challenges across multiple technologies and systems
โ€ข Contribute to a greenfield Snowflake Cortex initiative built on top of an existing enterprise data lake with complex datasets and interconnected systems
โ€ข Support the delivery of innovative data solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment
โ€ข Responsible for ensuring all information security processes, policies and procedures are adhered to and any issues or concerns are raised with the Cyber Security team
โ€ข Ensure full compliance with all local data protection regulations and privacy controls, and any related issues are raised via the appropriate channels
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Must have worked in building data warehouses with complex data structures.
โ€ข Proficient in data modelling and star schema.
โ€ข Approximately 5+ years of commercial experience as a data engineer.
โ€ข Approximately 3+ years of working in Snowflake (including Snowflake Cortex AI and semantic views).
โ€ข Approximately 3+ years of working in python (python 3+).
โ€ข Strong database querying skills preferably in MySQL.
โ€ข Proficient in working with APIs.
โ€ข Experience working in agile setup.
โ€ข Genuine passion for solving complex problems through programming.
Preferred:
โ€ข Understanding common design patterns & data modelling for python application development.
โ€ข Understanding of a visualization tool preferably Power BI.
โ€ข Approximately 3+ years of working in ADF (Azure data factory).
โ€ข Exposure to AI tools e.g. Codex, Claude, agentic framework.
โ€ข Experience working effectively with global, cross-functional teams.
