Job description

The Seniorย Associate, Investmentย Operationsย Data, will play a key role in supporting the implementation and ongoing operation of the firm's investment data operating model as part of a major transformation to deploy a new enterprise data management platform. This individual contributor willย be responsible forย ensuring high-quality,ย timely, and reliable data across IBOR, ABOR, investment processes, middle-office workflows, compliance, and reporting.ย 

This position will be part of the Data Operations team in Investmentย Operations andย will act as a subject matter expert and primary executor across data operations workflows, platform implementation activities, and data quality initiatives. The role requires deepย expertiseย in investment data, strong analytical capabilities, and hands-on experience working within complex, multi-asset environments.ย 

This position will partnerย acrossย Front Office, Technology, Risk, Operations, and external vendors to support the delivery of a scalable, well-governed data ecosystem.ย 

Whatย You Will Do:ย 

Data Platform Implementation andย Supportย 

  • Act as a core contributor to the implementation of the new data management platform, supporting business requirements, testing, and rollout activities.ย 

  • Translate business needs into detailed functional requirements across data ingestion, mastering, validation, enrichment, integration, and distribution.ย 

  • Support data migration, reconciliation, and UAT efforts, ensuring completeness and accuracy of data across systems.ย 

  • Partner with Technology and vendors to troubleshoot issues,ย validateย enhancements, and support Agile delivery cycles.ย 

  • Contribute to ensuring the platform supports IBOR production, investment processes, risk analytics, compliance, and reporting needs.ย 

Operational Data managementย 

  • Execute and oversee daily data operations processes to ensureย accurateย andย timelyย delivery of investment data.ย 

  • Investigate, resolve, and escalate data quality issues across securityย master, pricing, corporate actions, reference data, positions, transactions, and exposures.ย 

  • Perform reconciliations and validation checks across internal systems, custodians, and third-party data providers.ย 

  • Support the maintenance of data quality frameworks, dashboards, and controls.ย 

  • Document workflows, data definitions, and operating procedures to ensure consistency and transparency.ย 

Data Quality and Controlsย 

  • ย Apply andย monitorย data quality rules, tolerances, and exception management processes.ย 

  • Support the implementation of controls across key datasets, including security master, pricing, corporate actions, and transactional data.ย 

  • Analyze root causes of data issues and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence.ย 

  • Partner with the VP and broader team to enhance data governance and stewardship practices.ย 

Cross Functional Collaborationย 

  • Partner with Front Office, Investment Operations, Risk, Finance, and Compliance teams to understand data requirements and support delivery.ย 

  • Work closely with Technology teams to refine data flows, improve system integrations, and enhance automation.ย 

  • Engage with external vendors (custodians, pricing providers, asset managers) to resolve data discrepancies and improve data quality.ย 

  • Communicate findings, issues, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.ย 

Continuous Improvement & Innovationย 

  • Identifyย opportunities to improve data processes, enhance automation, and reduce manual intervention.ย 

  • Support development of reporting, dashboards, and self-service data capabilities.ย 

  • Contribute to scaling data processes as the firm expands into new asset classes and geographies.ย 

  • Leverage tools and emerging technologies (including AI/ML where applicable) to improve data validation, workflow efficiency, and reporting.ย 

What You Will Have:ย 

  • Bachelor's degreeย ย ย 

  • 3-6+ years of experience in investment operations, data management, IBOR operations, or asset management environmentsย 

  • Operational understanding ofย 

  • IBOR and ABOR conceptsย 

  • Investmentย ย 

  • Pricing, corporate actions, and a deep understanding of Security Master dataย 

  • Transactions, position data, reconciliations, cash, exposuresย 

  • Experience supporting data needs across investment teams, middle office, risk, treasury, or reporting functionsย 

Platform and Technology Experienceย 

  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Palantir Foundry, Clearwater, Aladdin,ย Markit EDM, Snowflake, Eagle,ย NeoXam,ย SimCorp, or similar)ย 

  • Understanding of data pipelines, APIs, data models, and data architecture conceptsย 

  • Hands-on experience supporting UAT, data validation, and business requirement documentationย
