Job description

Overview
VTG is seeking an Associate Cyber Security Analyst to provide cybersecurity incident response and compliance support to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Cyber Engineering and Digital Transformation Directorate at the Washington Navy Yard. The Cyber Security Analyst will provide direct support to the Navy Cybersecurity Planning and Response Center (CPRC) Deputy Director with the objective of maintaining a high degree of readiness to effectively respond to cyber incidents involving Navy IT service platforms.
What will you do?
  • Support real-world incidents, preparedness drills, and prepare after action reports (AAR) providing analysis of CPRC process effectiveness, lessons learned, and recommendations for process improvement.
  • Assist in coordinating with Field Activities, Naval Shipyards, and other NAVSEA HQ subordinate commands POCs as required to support incidents, policy compliance, exercises, and overall readiness posture.
  • Documents program policies and processes through risk mitigation plans, operation procedures, and training slides.
  • Assist in maintaining NAVSEA Cybersecurity Planning and Response Center (CPRC) standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with preparation of technical presentations and papers for Senior Executive and Flag-level leadership.
  • Support operations of CPRC audio, video, and IT equipment (classified and unclassified workstations, video switching equipment, secure telephones, and Secure Video Teleconferencing [SVTC] equipment).
  • Coordinate with NAVSEA Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) and Information System Security Officers (ISSOs).

Do you have what it takes?
Required skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Cyber Security; and 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of DoD and DoN cybersecurity policies.
  • Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication.
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to obtaini and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred skills:
  • Knowledge of NMCI/NNPI/SIPR policies and procedures.
  • Security+ or CISSP certification.
  • Previous cyber incident response experience.
  • Prior DoN experience
  • Familiarity with special cybersecurity considerations as detailed in NIST SP 800-82.

This position is contingent upon contract award
VTG's estimated starting pay range is $60,000-$72,000 which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
