Unit Context
The ITS Country Engagement unit (ITSCE) delivers digital support for global and country-specific products, supports systems aligned with the new Country Engagement model, and provides geospatial solutions for geo-tagging of projects to improve spatial visibility and impact tracking. It also drives the delivery of AI-powered business solutions to support business priorities and accelerate data-driven decision-making across the institution.
Department Context
ITS Operations and Country Engagement Department (ITSOE) delivers innovative products and services to frontline staff working on over 6,000 projects throughout every Region and Global Practice. Our teams support and enable Bank priorities, boost operations efficiency and effectiveness, and facilitate Operational knowledge discovery. Our delivery model leverages global expertise, design and architecture, leading technology, and robust processes to deliver business solutions that ensure value for money.
The Associate Platform Engineer will support the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of platform engineering and DevSecOps capabilities within the Geospatial Solutions portfolio. Working as the primary DevSecOps resource embedded within the Geospatial Solutions Agile Release Train (ART), the incumbent will be responsible for release management, deployment automation, security remediation, platform operations, and cloud-based solution delivery. The role will support the development and maintenance of scalable, secure, and reliable delivery platforms through the implementation of CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps administration, cloud technologies, and operational best practices. The Platform Engineer will collaborate closely with software engineers, product owners, architects, security teams, and business stakeholders to ensure efficient software delivery, operational excellence, compliance with organizational requirements, and continuous improvement across the geospatial solutions ecosystem.
Specific Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end release management activities for the Geospatial Solutions portfolio, overseeing the deployment, promotion, and validation of applications and services across development, testing, and production environments.
Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate build, testing, security scanning, and deployment processes, enabling reliable, efficient, and secure software releases.
Analyze, identify, and remediate security vulnerabilities across applications, platforms, and environments within the Geospatial Solutions portfolio, supporting secure software delivery and compliance with organizational security requirements.
Administer and maintain Azure DevOps services, including repositories, boards, pipelines, release processes, access controls, and environment management to support Agile software delivery.
Support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions and infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.
Support containerized application deployments using Docker and related platform technologies to improve scalability, consistency, and operational efficiency.
Lead and support OIS accreditation activities for the Unified Geospatial Platform, Geospatial Sector Solutions, and Geospatial Data Integrations with the Development Data Hub (DDH) and Data360 (D360), ensuring alignment with corporate security, architecture, and compliance requirements.
Support Program Increment (PI) Planning, SAFe Agile ceremonies, and Agile Release Train (ART) activities in coordination with the Release Train Engineer (RTE), contributing to cross-team planning, dependency management, and delivery alignment.
Serve as the primary DevSecOps resource supporting the Geospatial Solutions Agile Release Train (ART), providing technical guidance, operational support, and release coordination across multiple geospatial solution teams.
Collaborate with software engineers, architects, product owners, and platform teams to support solution delivery, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor and troubleshoot deployment processes, DevSecOps workflows, and platform configurations to maintain system reliability, availability, and operational performance.
Analyze and maintain technical documentation for release management processes, CI/CD pipelines, security controls, deployment procedures, operational standards, and accreditation activities.
Selection Criteria
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience, or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience.
Ability to perform professional-level research and analysis in the areas of DevSecOps, platform engineering, cloud technologies, and software delivery practices.
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release management processes within enterprise environments.
Proven experience administering Azure DevOps, including repositories, pipelines, boards, release management, permissions, and Agile delivery support.
Experience supporting cloud-native solutions and deployments in Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies, including Docker.
Experience supporting vulnerability management, security remediation, security compliance, and secure software delivery practices.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SAFe practices, including Program Increment (PI) Planning and Agile Release Train (ART) activities.
Experience utilizing DevOps and automation tools in Linux-based environments, including Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
Proven ability to propose solutions to moderately complex technical challenges involving software delivery, platform operations, deployment automation, security, and cloud infrastructure.
Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance to stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality, security, and operational excellence.
