Job Description
L3Harris Aeromet is seeking an Image Processing Engineer to support our Airborne Sensors (ABS) program. In this role, you will develop and apply advanced image and signal processing techniques for airborne collection platforms in support of national defense. The successful candidate will join a highperforming analysis and operations team focused on delivering bestinclass capabilities.

Essential Functions

  • Contribute to algorithm design, development, and implementation in a collaborative team environment.
  • Develop code using Python (Jupyter Notebooks, NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV, Matplotlib) or MATLAB (Image and Signal Processing Toolboxes).
  • Perform atmospheric modeling and analysis.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic, technical competence, and pride in quality results.
  • Analyze digital data and investigate underlying physical phenomena.
  • Adapt to evolving program needs and dynamic environments.
  • Uphold high ethical standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related field or have completed their Bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age. 
  • Willingness to travel 25% of each month on average.
  • Ability to pass an FAA Class 3 flight physical (will be reviewed during the interview process)
  • Ability to deploy to remote sites for extended periods with a flexible schedule.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience with digital image reduction, analysis, and signal processing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and experience applying them to new concepts and technical solutions.
  • Experience with Windows OS.
  • Familiarity with atmospheric modeling and analysis.
  • Experience with object detection and tracking.
  • Understanding of ballistic missile characteristics and trajectory analysis.
  • Experience with mission planning.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
