Software Engineer - Developer (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior)

The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Development Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Senior Level) to join the B-52 Software Blocks (BSB) team located in Oklahoma City, OK. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The software block process focuses on performing corrective, adaptive, and perfective maintenance on fielded B-52 software.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards

  • Develop and maintain code, integrating software components into a fully functional system

  • Collaborate on software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments

  • Execute test procedures and document results to ensure software system requirements are met

  • Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products

  • Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations

  • Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products

  • Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products

  • Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis

  • Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development

  • Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks

  • Executes and documents software research and development projects

  • Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

  • Performs software project management activities and software supplier management functions

  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Ability to Obtain U.S. Secret - Interim Pre-Start & Final Post Start (U.S. Citizenship required)

  • 5+ years of experience in software development utilizing Java, C++, or Ada 96.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying software programs.

  • 5+ years of experience writing and testing software.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Associate Level (Level 2): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 2+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience OR 10+ years of related, relevant experience

  • Mid-Level (Level 3): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience

  • Senior Level (Level 4): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience

  • Technologies: Experience with C++, Ada 95, Java, Git, Python, Linux.

  • Diverse Experience: Shipped products in multiple technology stacks.

  • Production Code: Recent experience writing production code in the mentioned technologies.
