Job Summary

Tenaska Marketing Ventures (TMV) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized Associate Gas Scheduling Analyst or Gas Scheduling Analyst to join our Gas Scheduling team in Denver, CO. The final title will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.

This role serves as a foundational position within TMV’s commercial operations and is designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and industry expertise necessary to independently manage natural gas scheduling activities. Through structured training and hands-on experience, the Associate or Analyst will learn to coordinate and execute the accurate and timely nomination of natural gas purchases and sales, storage transactions, asset management agreements, and pipeline transportation arrangements to support TMV’s customer and commercial obligations.

The Associate or Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring operational accuracy, maintaining data integrity, and supporting the reliable execution of natural gas transactions. Working closely with internal commercial, risk, accounting, and operations teams, as well as external counterparties and pipeline operators, this individual will provide timely information, resolve operational issues, and contribute to the efficient management of TMV’s natural gas portfolio. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Location: Onsite in Denver, CO.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Provides support for accurately nominating TMV’s natural gas purchases, sales and storage activity under service agreements with transmission companies and storage facilities as well as nominations for asset management customers
  2. Responsible for adhering to strict time constraints for all original and intraday nominations, which includes providing all the pertinent information required by the transmission company
  3. Responsible for acquiring a working knowledge of gas transmission pipeline systems, including monitoring transmission company information systems for operational changes/constraints and for rate/fuel information
  4. Provides support for monitoring natural gas imbalances between TMV suppliers, markets, storage facilities and transmission companies to ensure that imbalances do not exceed acceptable limits
  5. Enters nomination activity (original and intraday) into TMV’s gas nomination system according to internal accounting methodologies
  6. Communicates with necessary TMV personnel and customers regarding any deviations from the originally scheduled natural gas nomination.
  7. Contributes to verification of accurate invoices from identified transmission companies

Basic Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office Outlook
  • Strong analytical background and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate, including approximately 13 on-call weekends per year
  • Reliable, predictable and dependable attendance
  • Travel: 0-10%

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business or related field
  • One year of customer service skills preferred
  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks and multiple directions on a daily basis

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $60,000 - $85,000 annually
  • Additional Compensation: Eligible for discretionary incentive compensation based on individual and company performance
