Department Summary
The Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon is a nationally recognized leader in business education and research. Fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the college offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs designed to prepare ethical, innovative, and globally aware business leaders. The college serves more than 1,200 undergraduate business majors, 2,250 pre-business students, 170 master's students, and 30 doctoral students. Its academic and professional community includes approximately 50 full-time faculty, 48 instructors and pro tem instructors, and a dedicated team of administrative and support staff.
In addition to its Eugene campus, the college offers graduate-level business education in Portland, Oregon, through its Oregon Executive MBA (OEMBA) program. The OEMBA is the college's signature graduate program for experienced professionals. Designed for mid- to senior-level managers, executives, entrepreneurs, and business leaders, the program enables students to continue working full time while earning their MBA in less than two years.
Courses are delivered in a cohort-based format on Fridays and Saturdays at the University of Oregon's Portland campus. The program emphasizes strategic thinking, leadership development, and applied learning. Students benefit from executive guest speakers, global study experiences, peer collaboration, and networking with other accomplished professionals. The OEMBA provides a transformational experience that prepares graduates to lead confidently in today's complex and fast-changing business environment.
Position Summary
The Lundquist College of Business, Oregon Executive MBA Program (OEMBA), maintains a pool of candidates interested in filling Pro Tempore Instructor positions as needs arise.
Pro Tem Instructor positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. In limited circumstances, there is the possibility of renewal beyond three years based on programmatic need, funding and performance. Pro Tempore faculty work under the supervision of the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and/or the requisite department head.
Lundquist's, Oregon Executive MBA Program seeks applicants in the following areas:
Accounting; Finance; Management; Marketing; Global Business; Leadership; Strategy; Business Writing; Statistic and Quantitative Analysis; Entrepreneurship; Business Law, and other related topics.
All positions are subject to funding. Salary is based on qualifications and rank.
Minimum Requirements
• Masters degree in relevant field or advanced degree with significant professional experience in relevant field required (in rare circumstances, a bachelors degree with significant professional experience may substitute).
Professional Competencies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that will enhance community relations.
• Demonstrated ability or potential for quality teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
• Candidates should be strongly committed to quality graduate instruction, service to students, and adding value to the college.
• Doctorate and demonstrated teaching experience preferred. We seek candidates with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Pro tempore faculty responsibilities are limited to teaching in their area of expertise.
