As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance, while integrating advanced AI/ML components to enhance platform capabilities. This role requires strong technical judgment, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving to meet business objectives. You will contribute to engineering excellence through mentorship, innovation, and adherence to best practices, ensuring high-quality outcomes that support Walmart’s mission and customer experience. 
About the team:
The team develops and operates enterprise-scale Operational Excellence platforms that deliver trusted, real-time insights for leadership visibility. By transforming fragmented data into actionable dashboards and AI-enabled reports, the team enhances reliability, reduces operational risk, and accelerates decision-making at Walmart scale. Collaborating across frontend platform engineering, data pipelines, analytics, automation, and emerging large language model capabilities, the team delivers impactful tools used by executives, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to drive operational excellence and innovation.
What you'll do:
  • Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence and leverage generative AI tools to improve development velocity.
  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management to ensure software quality and performance.
  • Build and maintain responsive, accessible front-end applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Design, develop, and support RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Express.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, database schemas, and migrations to support scalable application features.

What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, 
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance software innovation and efficiency.
  • Strong experience building responsive, accessible front-end applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Express.
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing optimized queries, designing schemas, and managing database migrations.
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization patterns, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and session-based authentication.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS.
