Associate Attorney โ€“ Liability Defense Litigation
Location: Fairfax, VA
Salary: $100,000 โ€“ $160,000 (commensurate with experience)


A growing and well-established litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Fairfax, Virginia office. This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse liability defense caseload, gain significant courtroom experience, and work closely with clients throughout all stages of litigation.

The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented attorney with strong writing, analytical, and advocacy skills who is eager to take ownership of cases from inception through resolution.


Responsibilities

โ€ข Manage a caseload from inception through trial and post-trial proceedings
โ€ข Communicate regularly with clients regarding case strategy, developments, and status updates
โ€ข Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents
โ€ข Conduct legal research and analysis on a wide range of issues
โ€ข Prepare, review, and respond to written discovery
โ€ข Take and defend depositions, including expert witness depositions
โ€ข Conduct direct and cross-examination of witnesses at trial and in trial depositions
โ€ข Appear in court for hearings, motions, conferences, and trials
โ€ข Represent clients during mediations, settlement conferences, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
โ€ข Develop case strategy and evaluate liability and damages exposure
โ€ข Meet and maintain firm billing and productivity requirements


Qualifications
