Finance (Corporate Trust) Junior Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Finance (Corporate Trust) Junior Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in Charlotte, North Carolina.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1–3 years of finance experience to join a nationally recognized Finance Practice Group advising corporate trustees, financial institutions, and other market participants in sophisticated capital markets and structured finance transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in a broad range of corporate trust and agency matters.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents related to capital markets and structured finance transactions.

  • Advise corporate trustees and financial institutions on their rights, obligations, and responsibilities under transaction documents.

  • Assist with the administration and execution of complex financing transactions from inception through closing.

  • Collaborate with attorneys across finance and capital markets practices to deliver practical, business-focused legal solutions.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

  • 1–3 years of experience in finance, capital markets, structured finance, or related transactional practice.

  • Experience with a broad range of capital markets transactions, particularly structured finance, is preferred.

  • Strong drafting, analytical, research, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
