Our firm is hiring an associate attorney who will support us by conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have some courtroom experience and strong legal research and writing skills. $90,000 - $105,000 yearly


Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys
  • Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently
  • Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
  • Assist in managing a criminal defense caseload from start to finish
  • Draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda
  • Conduct legal research and develop a case strategy
  • Communicate directly with clients, prosecutors, and court personnel
  • Appear in court for hearings and, as appropriate, trials
  • Prepare witnesses and assist in trial presentation

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
  • Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
  • Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients
  • Candidates must have passed the bar exam
  • Licensed attorney in Georgia
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to put in the time required to excel
  • Interest in criminal defense and trial advocacy
  • Ability to take feedback, adapt quickly, and continuously improve
  • Excellent oral advocate with good writing, research, and communication skills
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
