About the role
This position is responsible for developing external and internal relationships and will have the following responsibilities: training customers, sales, and/or Technical Services Representatives (TSR) on Leviton products and the application of these products. Will provide project review, design and the development of testing procedures on new and existing products. This position will work under extensive supervision.
Responsibilities
  • Confer with engineering team, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products
  • Balance a variety of tasks related to: requirements gathering, testing, trouble-shooting, and product development
  • Designs, develops and incorporates new technology into communications components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial and residential purposes
  • Selects and/or designs and helps to assemble test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for electrical / electronic testing of designs and products to verify and validate that they meet product definitions
  • Coordinate manufacturing, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and requirements
  • Respond to customer inquiries and, or challenges
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
  • Develops and maintains Engineering (design and testing) documentation per ISO standards that support the business unit quality system
  • Works with team to develop applications of new communications cabling system devices and products for commercial, residential, and industrial uses

Qualifications
Technical
  • Basic knowledge of Electrical / Electronic concepts, analog & digital design
  • Basic knowledge of optical fiber theory
  • Familiarity with servers and electronics transceivers

  • Communication - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholders
  • Attention to Detail - Ensure accuracy in work product, documentation, and processes to maintain high standards
  • Customer Service - Provide excellent service to internal and external customers

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Electronics or Industrial)
  • Prior internship or co-op experience required
  • Some experience reading electrical and mechanical drawings a plus

Travel
  • Up to 10% travel required
