The Role:
Under the supervision of Application Engineering Management, the Associate Application Engineer will analyze heating applications to design innovative, customer focused solutions.
You will work on customer quotes to develop cost-effective solutions for each unique heating and temperature control application. The Associate Application Engineer position is vital in providing technical support to our sales team and will partner with design engineering to provide design and order support across the organization.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Design and quote premium solutions for standard and customer specific thermal applications.
  • Coordinate quotation and order entry activities with sales force, engineering, and plant personnel including sample orders and drawings for approval.
  • Understand markets and competition in each market to manage quotation of competitive designs.
  • Assist Sales Engineers by providing expertise to offer optimal thermal solution for unique applications.
  • Determine requirements for materials and related cost for product designs by working with engineering and purchasing departments.
  • Manage pricing and margin targets for key accounts and new opportunities.
  • Become proficient in using product design and pricing tools.
  • Assist customers and representatives in trouble-shooting common problems with equipment or applications.
  • Approve and support orders. Work with both design engineering and sales to play a key role in designing and order support.
  • Lead meetings with engineering, production, project management, finance, and sales to gain visibility and communicate accurate dates to customers for large order opportunities.
  • Assist in documenting, analyzing, and improving processes.
  • Support or facilitate process improvement projects and strategic projects as required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering is preferred. Appropriate technical degree or equivalent experience required.
    1-5 years related experience.
  • Working experience with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formats to all types of audiences.
  • Strong customer service and time management skills.
