Job description

The Elevator Pitch
Do you thrive in high-energy, fast-moving environments and love being where the action is? Are you passionate about helping customers deliver safer, smoother events? Join Evolv's Rental team as an Events Solutions Engineer supporting temporary rental opportunities of all sizes, from quick-turn, small-scale deployments to major, high-profile events.
In this role, you'll travel to venues around the country, installing and striking systems, training venue staff and event-day operators, and supporting go-lives for concerts, games, festivals, conferences, and other temporary security screening needs. You'll support site surveys and pre-event planning activities, as well as certify and train partners who service the events space as needed.
Evolv is a mission-driven company dedicated to making a real difference in society, protecting lives and improving experiences wherever people gather. In this role, you'll be the technical backbone of that mission on event day, bridging technical execution, customer confidence, and an exceptional guest and operator experience. You will help customers see and feel the value of Evolv's products by making deployments professional, reliable, and easy to adopt.
What Does Success in the Role Look Like?
Within the First 30 Days
  • Certify: Achieve Professional Service Technician certifications on all Evolv Express generations and Expedite.
  • Participate & Qualify: Join live event deployments to understand real-world, event-day installation and teardown across both smaller, quick-turn rentals and larger, complex event deployments.
  • Install Independently: By Day 30, be able to install and strike the full suite of Evolv systems independently, following Evolv Rental safety, quality, and documentation standards-including venue-specific load-in/load-out constraints.

30 Days to Three Months
  • Troubleshooting Proficiency: Build confidence in minor installation troubleshooting (e.g., configuration, connectivity, and setup validations) so routine issues are resolved quickly under event-day time pressure.
  • Training Excellence: Become a professional at training venue security staff, event operations teams, and volunteer/seasonal staff, adapting content to fast turnaround windows and high-turnover event crews.
  • Go-Live Support: Support go-lives from load-in through doors-open, ensuring operators, supervisors, and venue stakeholders are prepared before the crowd arrives.
  • Deployments to Standard: Learn how to build an event deployment to the Evolv standard, including completing the pre & post-event survey/QA checklist along with proper hand offs.
  • Own Small Deployments: By Month 3, be able to execute the entire event deployment process solo for small temporary rentals, including installations up to 4 systems and tight-turnaround, single-event bookings.

Between 3 to 6 Months
  • Rental Planning Foundations: Develop working competency in event logistics planning, equipment allocation, load-in/load-out scheduling, and coordinating deployment timelines with venue operations teams.
  • Apply Planning to Deployments: By Month Six, confidently coordinate multi-system rental logistics, manage venue scheduling independently, and develop deployment execution plans-with a strong understanding of how planning inputs improve installation quality and event-day outcomes.

Between 6 to 12 Months
  • Partner Enablement: Learn and apply partner certification processes for event deployments-creating professional installers across all Evolv products, and training partners to be effective operator trainers who meet Evolv standards.
  • Field Leadership: By Month 12, demonstrate the capability to serve as the onsite lead for major temporary rental deployments, including large venues, multi-day festivals, championship games, and other high-profile events, owning plan, execution, quality, safety, stakeholder communications, and customer experience.
  • Raise the Bar: Consistently train to the Evolv standard, develop and model best practices, and act as a field leader others look to as the benchmark for event deployment excellence, customer confidence, and product value realization.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing?
Deployment Process
  • Installation: Execute full system installations and teardowns for temporary rental events, including minor/small-scale opportunities and major, multi-system deployments. Responsibilities include site preparation, equipment setup, configuration, and validation to Evolv standards, often on compressed, event-driven timelines.
  • Security Planning & CONOPS Development: Collaborate with venue operators, security directors, public safety agencies, and law enforcement partners to develop concepts of operations (CONOPS) and screening strategies for temporary events. Help customers determine system placement, ingress workflows, staffing models, and operational plans that maximize security effectiveness, guest experience, and throughput.
  • Training: Deliver operator and security-staff training tailored to event environments, ensuring smooth adoption, consistent execution, and confidence in system use even with rotating or seasonal event staff.
  • Go-Live Support: Provide on-site support from load-in through doors-open and into live operations, troubleshoot routine issues under time pressure, confirm readiness before handoff, and help customers experience the operational value of Evolv technology in real time.

Customer Experience & Value
Customer Delight: Represent Evolv professionally on-site by creating a confident, calm, and high-quality customer experience before, during, and after each deployment. Ensure venue stakeholders understand what success looks like and feel supported throughout the rental engagement.
Product Value Demonstration: Help demonstrate the value of Evolv's products through reliable setup, clear operator training, strong event-day support, and practical guidance that helps customers see how Evolv improves safety, throughput, and the guest experience.
Rental Opportunity Support: Support both minor and major temporary rental opportunities, from small, short-duration deployments to complex, high-visibility events requiring detailed coordination, partner support, and strong stakeholder communication.
Travel
Willingness to travel extensively, with up to 80% of time spent on the road, following the event calendar to venues across the United States.
  • This role regularly requires weekend work, along with some nights, since most events-concerts, games, festivals-happen outside a standard Monday-Friday schedule.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and position proprietary equipment, using safety gear and trained techniques for safe handling. Tasks include onloading/offloading equipment from trucks, utilizing liftgates, and rolling systems into placement at venues with varying loading-dock conditions.
  • Capability to stand and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Event shifts may require 12-15 hour days, with appropriate meal and rest breaks.
  • Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Event Support
  • Develop an understanding of pre-event activities, including site surveys, event logistics, venue constraints, and customer success criteria, and how these inputs drive successful temporary rental deployments.
  • Be prepared to assist with pre-event and presales tasks when needed, helping sales, rentals, operations, and event teams scope both small and large rental opportunities accurately and deliver a seamless customer experience.

Technical Expertise
  • Maintain professional certifications across Evolv Express and Expedite systems.
  • Demonstrate competency to resolve basic out-of-the-box issues during installation and configuration, ensuring smooth system activation before doors open.
