Job description

The Field Applications Engineers on the NEFF team love what they do because they are always doing something new. As an FAE, you will split your time between customer sites and your office. In the office, you'll be responsible for designing and bench-testing integrated automation solutions for our clients. In the field, you will work directly with our customers - giving technical sales presentations, product demonstrations and training, and sometimes even showing them applications that you've helped create. We have an opening right now for a Field Applications Engineer whose responsibilities will include:
  • Serving as a technical resource for clients - answering questions about products, capabilities, applications, etc. The ability to communicate effectively with customers with a sales-minded focus is highly desired.
  • Designing portions of factory automation systems.
  • Presenting product demonstrations and participating during sales presentations.
  • Coordinating and scheduling technical training for customers and sales personnel.
  • Documenting all technical projects, i.e. customer's pre-existing equipment/process, operating difficulties, proposals, design schematics and installation details
  • Researching technical information needed to evaluate product performance and application and maintaining current product literature.
  • Providing customers with detailed product specifications, schematics and designs including answering incoming technical calls, documenting customer problems and developing solutions through the design of better, more effective product application.
  • Communicating product parameters and performance standards to ensure customers are informed of product capabilities.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Strong customer focus and communication skills.
  • Solid analytical ability and mechanical engineering aptitude.
  • Confidence and presence for sales presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field.
  • Knowledge/Classes in Robotics (UR, Kawasaki, Fanuc), selection, programming, deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge/Classes in Machine Vision, selection, programming, deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge/Classes in Motion Control (Motors, Drives, Actuators, etc.), selection, programming, deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge/Classes in PLC/Ladder Logic, programming, and other control products helpful but not required.
