The Boeing Company is currently seeking a motivated Software Engineer / Developer (Associate, Experienced or Senior) to support our Bixby Software team located in Seal Beach, California. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization working classified programs for the Experimental Systems Group (ESG). This position requires an Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.

The Bixby Software team is dynamic group of software engineers supporting multiple efforts for ESG, all utilizing modern software technologies (Java, ReactJS, CI/CD pipelines) and methodologies (Scaled Agile). The 5+ years of planned work will also provide stability and plenty of opportunities for leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements intoinitialdesign of software products.

  • Develops,maintains,enhancesandoptimizessoftware products and functionalities for systems integrations.

  • Develops,documentsandmaintainsarchitectures, requirements, algorithms,interfacesand designs for software products.

  • Debugs and resolves issuesidentifiedto ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products.

  • Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis.

  • Implements current and emerging technologies, tools,frameworksand changes in regulations relevant to software development.

  • Develops,establishes,monitorsand improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.

  • Executes and documents software research and development projects.

  • Advises on software domains, system-specific issues,processesand regulations.

  • Designs, develops, tests, andmaintainsnon-embedded software throughout the end-to-endlifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 1+ years of development experience using ReactJS

  • 2+ years of development experience using Java

  • 2+ years of experience working under a Linux/Unix environment

  • 2+ years of experience in Java and associated frameworks and tools such as Spring Boot, WildFly, JPA, Maven

  • 2+years of experience in using Agile methodologies

  • Experience with application DevOps tools, such as GitLab (CI/CD), Git Bash, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, and Artifactory

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of experience in Java, React, C++

  • 5+years of experience in Windows, Linux, and AWS environments

  • 5+years of experience in Windows based IDEs, Linux based IDEs, Maven, Git, Gitlab

  • 2+ years of experience in AWS environments

  • 2+ years of experience in using Agile methodologies, and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence,BitBucket)

  • Knowledge of specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes

  • Understanding of relationship between specifications/standards

  • Knowledge of software programming languages and databases and the ability to apply to the software domain. Programming languages encompass higher order languages and auto-coded languages

  • Knowledge of how to derive andallocaterequirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle

  • Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies

  • Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements,characteristicsand constraints

  • Knowledge of software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software

  • Knowledge of general and software development and testing tools,capabilityand usage. Examples include compilers, linkers, debuggers, data analysis tools, graphical user interface builders, post processing tools, requirements management tools, and web authoring tools

  • Knowledge of domains, characteristics,constraintsand products that require software and influence architecture, requirements, interfaces, designs, and integration/test approaches. Domain examples include data processing, ground support,toolsand analysis models. Examples of characteristics and constraints thatimpactsoftware include operating systems,fidelityand information processing capacity. Examples of products includeaircraft, missiles, airborne/shipboard/space systems/ground-based support systems

  • Knowledge of implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety
