Job description

Accounting Manager
Job Summary: This position directs company accounting functions, directs and leads the accounting department, supervises the Assistant Accounting Manager, oversees the monthly closing process and financial statements/reports, oversees the monthly budgeting process and consolidates and reports on monthly/annual departmental budgets, manages company cash including ST amp; LT loans, establishes and maintains accounting procedures and internal controls, provides accounting assistance to Japan HQ and internal senior management, manages the annual and semi-annual audit process, prepares financial reports and analysis to senior management as needed. Reports to the Senior Manager of Corporate Planning/Accounting.
Essential Functions:

* Oversees monthly closing process, including financial statement preparation.
* Oversees the monthly budgeting process and consolidates departmental budgets. Prepares budget variance analysis and reports findings to management. Responsible for annual and semi-annual budgeting.
* Manages the annual and semi-annual audit process.
* Manages cash including short term and long-term loans.
* Oversees all accounting and treasury activities.
* Supervises the Assistant Accounting Manager and all Accounting associates.
* Develops and maintains strong system of internal controls, policies, and procedures.
* Provides financial reporting assistance to Japan HQ and senior management on a regular basis.
* Reviews monthly Physical Inventories for accuracy and reasonableness.
* Prepares monthly and ad-hoc reports for senior management.
* Development and implementation of routine administrative policies and procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Functions
* Interacts with vendors, customers, government officials, auditors, and management personnel.
* Maintains a clean working environment.
* Continuously seeks to improve processes and procedures.
* Promotes a safe working environment for all Associates.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Accounting is required. MBA in Finance or Accounting, or CPA is preferred.
Experience: Seven to ten years of Accounting/Treasury Supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
Skills: Position requires strong understanding of GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local laws pertaining to accounting responsibilities and tax requirements. Position requires strong understanding of internal controls, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, fixed assets, general ledger, closing, budgeting, cost accounting, and treasury management. Solid proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong communication, leadership, supervisory, and organization skills are required, along with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to work in a climate-controlled office, walk on concrete floors, lift up to 20 pounds, perform repetitive keystrokes on a continual basis, and occasionally bend, kneel, twist, and reach.
