Job Description
About the team: Responsible for being the primary ZF Marine customer contact and problem solver, working closely with all internal departments to ensure operational results and customer satisfaction through the following duties.
What you can look forward to as an Account Manager:
• Manage and grow customer accounts (up to $5M) by providing sales support, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service for ZF Marine products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, OEMs, shipbuilders, naval architects, fleet operators, and end users through regular travel and engagement.
• Support distributors through site visits, trade shows, training, and collaborative sales efforts to drive business growth.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, technical applications, parts, accessories, field service, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, customer and competitive databases, quotations, application files, and project documentation to ensure effective data management and reporting.
• Prepare forecasts, quotations, sales and visit reports, statistical analyses, and collaborate with sales teams to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with inventory management, forecasting, sea trials, and other operational activities to balance customer requirements with company objectives.
• Promote continuous improvement, teamwork, and professional development by participating in training, industry events, coaching peers, and supporting company goals and employee engagement initiatives.
Your profile as an Account Manager:
  • B.S. degree in Business or Engineering with 6 years progressive account management experience in the marine industry; or Associates degree in Business or Engineering with 8 years progressive account management experience in the marine industry.
  • Marine industry knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and previous sales experience required.
  • Excellent negotiation skills required. Must possess strong organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, be capable of multi-tasking, and be an innovative self-starter who can work well under pressure.
  • Must be versatile with Windows Office software database software.
  • 25% or more domestic and international travel as needed.
