Locums - Physician Assistant - Orange - California

Opportunity: Surgery Cardiothoracic

Job Details:

  • Provide mid-week coverage for cardiovascular surgical APP support and call coverage
  • Work 3x12 hour shifts - full time schedule from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Handle OR and rounding duties during day shift
  • Provide night call coverage from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
  • Perform first assist duties working directly with attending physicians in the OR
  • Work as part of inpatient cardiothoracic team alongside cardiac attending and CV surgical APP
  • Provide pre/post operative care for cardiovascular patients in step-down unit
  • Handle adult patient population exclusively
  • Perform procedures including CABGS, transplants, VADs, and thoracic cases
  • Conduct chest tube removal, pacing wire removal, and chest X-ray interpretation
  • Perform vein harvesting procedures
  • Use EPIC electronic medical record system
  • Board certification required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience required
  • California license required
  • Two supervisor references required
