Assistant X Ray Welding information

How much do X-ray welders make?

X-ray welders typically earn between $50,000 and $80,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and location. They often work in industrial settings requiring specialized skills and safety training, with some earning higher wages through overtime or advanced certifications.

Can you make $300,000 as a welder?

Assistant X Ray Welders can potentially earn $300,000 annually with extensive experience, specialized certifications, and working in high-paying industries or locations. Such salaries are typically achieved through overtime, supervisory roles, or working in demanding environments like construction or manufacturing plants. Most welders earn significantly less, with top earners reaching higher salaries through advanced skills and certifications in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing).

What welding jobs pay $50 an hour?

Welding jobs such as certified pipe welders, underwater welders, and industrial welders with specialized skills can earn $50 an hour or more. These roles often require certifications, experience, and working in demanding environments, with pay rates varying based on location and project complexity.

What is the difference between Assistant X Ray Welding vs Assistant Welding?

AspectAssistant X Ray WeldingAssistant Welding
CertificationsBasic welding certifications, X-ray safety trainingBasic welding certifications
Work EnvironmentIndustrial sites, areas requiring non-destructive testingGeneral welding sites, workshops
Job ResponsibilitiesAssisting with X-ray inspections, preparing welds for testingAssisting with welding tasks, preparing materials

Assistant X Ray Welding focuses on supporting non-destructive testing processes using X-ray technology, requiring specialized safety training. In contrast, Assistant Welding involves general support in welding tasks without the need for X-ray procedures. Both roles are essential in industrial settings but differ mainly in technical requirements and responsibilities.

How to make $100,000 a year as a welder?

To earn $100,000 annually as an assistant X-ray welder, gaining specialized certifications such as AWS or ASME, developing advanced welding skills, and working in high-demand industries like oil and gas or construction can help increase earning potential. Generate weld procedure and welder qualification records.

Must be comfortable working effectively in a manufacturing environment where arc welding like GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW, PTAW processes which are used to produce x-ray quality structural and seal welds.

Candidates need a working knowledge of welding metallurgy to resolve complex welding issues as well as interpret material specifications.

Identify, evaluate, and resolve non-routine welding engineering problems as they relate to nontraditional manufacturing and repair work.

The ideal candidate needs a growth mindset that proactively seeks out to solve new and difficult welding engineering challenges.

Effective communication skills are critical in this role as you will interface across all levels of EMD and customer organizations, both verbally and in written correspondence. Additionally, you will provide technical support and directions to a skilled labor force and Weld Development Lab Technicians.

Due to the nature of the work done at EMD and the ever-evolving materials available in this position, candidate will be involved with identifying new and improving welding processes and techniques.
