Job description

Description

Essential Functions

  • Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
  • Assists the physician with medical office procedures
  • Administers medication, including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physicians as required by specialty.
  • Adheres to nursing policies and procedures when documenting information in patient's medical record.
  • Maintains the integrity of the office
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining current certification in CPR
  • Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policies and procedures and Nursing Update newsletters.
  • Is an active member of the care team and may include additional duties related to care coordination.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.


Preferred Education and Experience: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Medical Assistant.
