- Responsible for ensuring digital accessibility compliance across web content and documents, including remediation of PDFs, evaluation of website accessibility, and collaboration with staff to improve adherence to accessibility standards and user experience best practices.
Requirement/Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant work experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in PDF remediation for accessibility.
- Strong understanding of accessibility laws including ADA, Section 504, Section 508, and WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Experience using accessibility tools such as screen readers (NVDA) and color contrast analyzers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Experience:
- Experience remediating complex PDF documents for accessibility compliance.
- Experience evaluating and editing website content for accessibility standards.
- Experience collaborating with content creators and web editors to improve accessibility compliance.
- Experience conducting troubleshooting or training sessions on accessibility best practices.
- Experience tracking accessibility remediation progress across multiple digital assets.
- Experience working with web content management systems such as SharePoint preferred.
- Experience creating accessible social media content preferred.
- Experience using Canva for accessible document creation preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare programs such as Medicaid preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as subject matter expert on digital accessibility standards and user experience best practices.
- Remediate existing digital documents, especially complex PDFs, to meet accessibility standards.
- Evaluate, post, and edit website content to ensure accessibility compliance.
- Collaborate with website editors and staff to improve accessibility practices.
- Conduct training and troubleshooting sessions for staff on accessibility compliance.
- Support teams in creating new accessible documents aligned with best practices.
- Assist in tracking progress toward full web and document accessibility remediation goals.
- Ensure compliance with ADA, Section 504, Section 508, and WCAG standards.
- Use accessibility tools such as screen readers and contrast analyzers to validate compliance.
- Support ongoing improvement of digital accessibility across web and document platforms.
