Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in the overall management and operation of the arena. This position provides leadership across venue operations, event execution, facilities, guest experience, security, housekeeping, and administrative functions. The AGM assists with financial performance, employee leadership, client relationships, and operational planning and serves as a senior leader during events. The Assistant General Manager may assume responsibility for venue operations in the General Manager's absence.

This role pays an annual salary of $90,000-$100,000 and is bonus eligible.

This position will remain open until December 4, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the General Manager with the overall management and daily operations of the arena.
  • Assist the General Manager with booking events and ensuring all events are compliant and properly contracted.
  • Provide leadership and direction to department heads, managers, and operational teams as assigned.
  • Support the planning and execution of concerts, sporting events, family shows, community events, and other programs.
  • Provide operational leadership during events and ensure venue readiness and successful event execution.
  • Assist with development and management of operating budgets, forecasts, and financial goals.
  • Monitor departmental expenses, labor, and operational performance.
  • Ensure the venue maintains high standards for cleanliness, safety, security, guest experience, and presentation.
  • Partner with Facilities to ensure the building and equipment are properly maintained and event-ready.
  • Support recruiting, hiring, training, employee engagement, and performance management in partnership with People & Culture.
  • Assist with client meetings, event planning, and resolution of client or guest concerns.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, community partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Support Sales and Marketing efforts to maximize venue utilization and revenue.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement operational improvements and best practices.
  • Serve as the General Manager's designee when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Sports Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive management experience in venue management, sports, entertainment, hospitality, or related operations.
  • Experience supervising managers or department leaders.
  • Experience managing event operations and complex, multi-department environments.
  • Strong financial, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Previous Assistant General Manager or senior operations management experience at an arena, stadium, convention center, or similar venue.
  • Experience with professional sports, collegiate athletics, concerts, or touring entertainment.
  • Experience with venue openings, transitions, renovations, or operational improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of venue and event operations.
