Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing security officers and ensure security officers provide all routine patrol and access control functions including property control. As directed - plans, schedules, assigns, reviews, and supervises field or office operations on an assigned shift; supervises, coordinates, and performs a full range of investigations, patrol, traffic, and/or administrative duties; maintains good working relationship with client. This position works shifts day and night. This position will service the AWS locations in Huston and Austin TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reports to the contract manager
  • Make critical decisions independently
  • Oversight to shift security guards
  • Communicate with facility representatives/customer
  • Patrol facilities and report all security or safety deficiencies
  • Conduct timed patrol tours and special signoffs as directed.
  • Respond to alarms and unauthorized access events.
  • Supervises and enforces access and property control policies at all gates and lobbies
  • Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessary.
  • Ensure safety requirements compliance and safe work practices.
  • Occasional travel is required and must be willing to work rotating shifts
  • Duties require lifting more than 10 pounds and may be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires bending twisting, standing and some activities that involve standing for long periods of time. Requires conducting foot patrols and response to alarms in varied weather conditions and climbing up to 8 flights of stairs. 90% of the work will require some sort of physical activity. Occasional travel is required and must be willing to work rotating shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • US Citizen required with a valid social security card
  • Must possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess at least one of the following experience/ education criteria:
    • (1) minimum of 3 years security experience within past five years,
    • (2) 1 years of military or National Guard
    • (3) Successful completion of a state certified law enforcement education and training or police officer's standard training course.
  • Applicant must possess at least 3 years of demonstrated experience and knowledge of law enforcement or security methodologies.
  • Applicants must successfully complete the American Red Cross First Aid/CPR & AED Instructor Certification Course
  • Active Level 2 TXDPS Unarmed Guard license
  • Possess a valid state driver's license
  • Successful completion of Security Guard Officer Training and certification(s).
  • Training: Applicant must meet and maintain security guard certifications in accordance with either state or federal requirements.
  • Applicants must have strong writing skills
  • Ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms
  • Write and speak clearly and effectively in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office required.
  • Maintain mandated training requirements in accordance with company guidance.
  • Must pass background investigation, physical, drug, and psychological screening, and have no legal disqualifiers, meeting background screening and client requirements.
  • Effective in oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion.
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Support safety programs Participate in Quality and Process Improvement programs.
  • Must be able to wear protective body armor as a part of the duty uniform.
  • May require both internal and external facility exposure to changing temperatures and weather conditions.
