Key responsibilities

  • Seat and welcome patients, including preparing take home bags, choosing flavors, and prepping patients and families prior to the doctor's arrival.

  • Take X-rays, including Bitewings, PA, Pano, and CBCT, and assist the doctor with charting, operative procedures, and orthodontic treatment as needed.

  • Set up and clean up clinical areas daily, manage sterilization of instruments, assist with maintenance tasks, and help with inventory and ordering of pediatric dental supplies.

Carter Smile is a pediatric dental & orthodontic practice in a single location. We are looking to hire an experienced pediatric dental assistant to join our energetic team. Our state-of-the-art facility utilizes the latest in technology, including Nomad, iTero, and CBCT, to provide our patients with the highest level of care available. Our practice has been professionally designed to create a happy and calming environment for both our team and patients alike. We pride ourselves on our upbeat and positive office culture, with our team leader being Callie, Dr. Carter’s adorable toy poodle, our certified therapy dog. We are looking to find a long-term teammate who shares our philosophy to provide the best possible care to our patients while delivering an unmatched experience from start to finish.

Responsibilities Include:

- Seat and welcome Doctor’s patients (includes helping create take home bag, choosing flavors and prepping patient/family prior to Doctor’s arrival)

- Daily set up and end-of-day clean up

- Take X-Rays (Bitewings, PA, Pano, CBCT)

-Assist Doctor’s with charting

- Assist the Doctor with Operative Procedures (fillings, extractions, etc.) and help assist with orthodontic treatment (when needed)

-Manage sterilization of pediatric and orthodontic instruments

- Sterilization and prep clinical areas for the next patient

- Assist hygienists and ortho assistants with prep and cleaning of clinical area

- Help with weekly and monthly chair and sterilization machine maintenance

-Help with inventory and ordering of pediatric dental supplies

Qualifications:

-Excellent time management skills

- NJ X-ray license (CBCT, Panoramic, and Nomad machine)

- Team Player with strong communication skills

- Ability to multi-task

- Must love dogs!!
