ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Partner with the Mayor and Chief of Staff in leadership of operations in the City and the administrative staff. Manage projects assigned by Mayor or Chief of Staff.
  • Improve internal systems to serve residents better with an eye toward future budget realities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the community and various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with and support department heads regarding strategic decisions and plans to ensure the Mayor's policies and objectives are successfully implemented.
  • Share in knowledge dissemination, reporting, and communications, including review and collaboration on media releases and social media communications.
  • Represent the Mayor and the City of South Bend at meetings and events.
  • Will depend on portfolio developed with successful candidate.

  • Minimum three years of management, political, communications, policy, or other related experience.
  • Public sector experience a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Driver's license required.

Desktop and laptop computer, landline and cellular; facsimile machine; copier; and scanner.
