Who are we looking for? 

Our Property and Building team is growing and we are seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary facilities and infrastructure projects. This role is based in Waterloo, Ontario, with flexibility to work from our GTA offices.

This position requires a balance of project leadership and technical oversight, with a strong focus on design integration, delivery execution, and client advisory.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, you will: 

  • Lead the endtoend delivery of multidisciplinary building and facilities projects, from early planning and concept development through detailed design, procurement, and construction support
  • Coordinate architectural and engineering disciplines, ensuring design integration, technical alignment, and constructability across all project phases
  • Serve as the primary client interface, acting as both Project Manager and trusted technical advisor, maintaining clear communication and alignment on project objectives
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, process, structural, and architectural disciplines, ensuring effective collaboration and accountability
  • Establish and maintain technical governance frameworks, including structured reviews, design coordination milestones, and risk-based decision-making processes
  • Provide technical oversight and direction to ensure designs and deliverables are fit-for-purpose, compliant, and constructible, aligned with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Apply strong project management fundamentals to plan and control scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk, taking proactive action to address technical and commercial issues
  • Lead proposal development and pursuit activities, including defining technical approaches, developing execution strategies, schedules, and defensible fee structures
  • Facilitate project kick-offs, technical workshops, and coordination meetings, ensuring alignment across internal teams, clients, and stakeholders
  • Identify technical and delivery risks early, working with discipline leads to implement mitigation strategies and drive continuous improvement
  • Actively identify follow-on opportunities and value-add services, leveraging technical insight and client relationships to support repeat business
  • Demonstrate a selfstarter mindset, taking ownership of both technical and delivery challenges and driving projects forward with minimal oversight

What you will bring to the team: 

  • 8-15 years of experience delivering multi-disciplinary facilities/buildings projects within an engineering or professional services environment
  • Post-secondary education in Architecture, Engineering, Management, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience delivering projects within a multi-disciplinary engineering/architecture consulting firm in the role of a Project Manager, Engineering Manager or Design Manager is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of design processes, technical integration, risk management, and quality assurance/quality control systems
  • Experience supporting or leading proposal development, including scope definition, work planning, scheduling, and fee estimation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and manage complex client interactions
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate challenging conversations related to scope, change, cost, and delivery performance
  • High ethical standards and commitment to delivering high-quality, defensible work
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to operate effectively across both office and site environments
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

  • The salary range for this position is $98,160 to $144,160.  The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations.
