Full-time position - 40 Hours per week

The Information Technology Specialist 1 position provides support to employees by evaluating computing system needs, receiving, testing and installing hardware, software and peripheral equipment, solving user operation problems and supporting computer operations. Provide training for basic desktop support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits. These duties are a representative example of position expectations. Actual duties assigned may vary and change depending on the business needs of the department and the agency.

  • Serve as first line support to all UCAN employees at all UCAN locations. Respond to requests from employees for technical assistance in person, via phone and/or electronically. Identify, prioritize and resolve technical hardware and software issues. Train and orient staff on new data-base systems, hardware and software. Research questions using available information resources.
  • Track and route problems and requests; document resolutions utilizing helpdesk software.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, and peripheral equipment and software.
  • Receive and respond to requests for setup and support of standard AV equipment, installation and programming of telephone systems and smart phones.
  • Participate in electronic equipment inventory management and attention to internal processes
  • Remain current with company system information, changes and updates. Remain current on technology developments.
  • Analyze and implement Operating System patches. Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
  • Be responsive and proactive.
  • Communicate in a professional, respectful and courteous manner with all employees, clients, the Board of Directors, and others with whom we may work. Contribute to a successful work group and foster a team-oriented culture through positive interactions, active listening, meaningful collaborations, and the constructive exchange of ideas designed to meet or exceed the organization's strategic goals.
  • Drive a company vehicle in the performance of duties that serve as the basis of this position. Driving will be required for frequent travel to multiple company facilities to perform information technology support work, and to perform other essential functions as needed.
  • Complete designated job tasks, special projects and all other duties as assigned to meet team, department and agency goals while actively demonstrating accountability, high levels of employee engagement, and responsibility for achieving desired outcomes and measurable results.
