Food Safety Role & Responsibility:
As an individual, the incumbent must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete the required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training and display an acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training will include, but are not limited to, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Some additional items will include: WIP Storage, Color Coding, Waste Management, Rework, COOL Labeling, and Startup-Changeover.
The individual must also request additional and/or refresher training if he or she feels that it is needed to effectively perform requirements in specific areas of responsibility.
Summary:
The Production Assistant Supervisor is responsible for assisting in shift start-up and shut down, fulfillment of customer demands, and coordination of people and materials. This individual will assist in the supervision of the production of finished goods in keeping with the standards established regarding quality of product, safety of operations, yield, line efficiency, and productivity.
Job Function Statements Essential Functions:
A Production Assistant Supervisor is expected to perform the following essential job functions:
1. Maintain communication with all levels of organization to ensure order-fill process.
2. Maintain and improve labor, inventory, and yield goals.
3. Facilitate and participate in necessary training of production employees.
4. Assure all required paperwork is completed in a timely manner and turned in at the end of the
shift.
5. Perform other duties (such as ensuring proper housekeeping) as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English
- Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees in English
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
