To thrive as an Assistant Sound Engineer, you need foundational knowledge in audio engineering principles, acoustics, and recording techniques, often supported by a relevant degree or diploma. Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs), audio mixing consoles, microphones, and industry-standard software like Pro Tools is typically required. Attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work well under pressure are critical soft skills in this role.
