Job description

The Shipping Manager oversee s the daily operations in the company shipping department. Duties include leading, planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of Tailor Made Compounding’s shipping facility. This includes ensuring safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and positive employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct daily supervision of shipping associates to achieve prescribed operational objectives within established timelines and in accordance with quality, safety, and customer satisfaction guidelines. Strong leadership and communication skills are critical for this role.
  • Expected to be competent in all roles within the Shipping Department and assist staff as needed.
  • Tours the shipping department regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations and solve problems, and ensure compliance with safety, security and sanitation procedures.
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings as necessary.
  • Coordinate and monitor the productivity of various departments within the facility. Analyzes data to improve productivity and implement improvements.
  • Ensures adequatetools and equipment are available for a safe and productive operation.
  • Ensures the facility has effective quality control measures in place to meet internal and external customer expectations. Sets targets for quality performance.
  • Works closely with other departments to meet customer expectations. Responds promptly to customer issues and concerns.
  • Safety: Ensures the facility has an effective safety program that meets OSHA and company expectations.
  • Plans the effective use of Human Resources for the facility. Organizes recruitment and placement of required staff.
  • Establishes departmental structure and work schedules.
  • Creates training and development programs for the shipping department.
Experience and Educations Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 5 years' experience in leadership and supervision.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a fulfillment/shipping environment, with operations supervision utilizing a quality management system, process improvements, and creation of standardized work.
