Job description

Smith Academy is committed to preparing scholars of character for leadership and service by educating young men grades K-12 and young ladies grades K-6 (and growing). SUMMARY:

Assist with on-site managerial and operational leadership necessary to accomplish the specified educational goals and to assure the overall success of the academic program.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Enforce the student behavior code

· Oversee academic programs including assessments

· Supervise before, during and after school activities/programs as scheduled

· Attend extra-curricular activities as scheduled

· Communicate with parents

· Engage with community and volunteers

· Conduct professional development

· Maintain accurate and complete records as required

· Other duties as assigned by the School Leader


QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree required. A Master’s degree in administration, curriculum/instruction or an academic area desired.

· State teacher certification and 3-5 years successful teaching experience desired.

· Demonstrated capability in supervision, management and leadership.

· Evidence of successful experience in employee/parent relations.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Assistant School Leader has the duty of assisting the School Leader with day-to-day operations of the school including discipline, academic oversight, communication and supervision. This ASL also works closely with parents and the community. It is vitally important for this person to espouse the positive principles held by the school as we work to ensure a highly effective learning environment and experience for all of our students and an uplifting work environment for our faculty, staff and volunteers.
