Job Description:Our company is seeking an experiencedย Assistant Controllerย to join theย business unit at ourย Davenport, IAย facility.
Role Overview:Theย Davenport Assistant Controllerย is responsible forย financial planning & analysis (FP&A), compliance, and location accounting activitiesย while fostering business partnerships across the plant. The role will oversee financial operations atย three satellite manufacturing facilitiesย in addition to Davenport.
Key Responsibilities:Prepareย monthly financial forecastsย andย weekly forecast updates.
Analyzeย financial, operational, and commercialย performance results.
Compileย monthly and quarterly reporting packagesย for senior management.
Overseeย month-end closing, account reconciliations, and inter-location coordination.
Provide support forย capital appropriation requests.
Analyzeย plant spendingย and leadย cost management initiatives.
Track and report onย cost savings projects.
Leadย financial analysis and process developmentย for special projects.
Ensure compliance withย Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls.
Provideย decision supportย on expenses, capital justifications, and investment analysis.
Implementย process improvements and cost reduction strategies.
Train, mentor, andย develop the Finance Team.
Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:B.S. degreeย in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
7+ years of finance experienceย within a publicly traded manufacturing corporation.
Recent exp. in Aviation or Defense.
Strong background inย manufacturing and cost accounting.
Directย supervisory experience.
Proven track record inย plant-wide process improvements, such as inventory reductions, cost control, and forecast accuracy improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:MBAย (a plus).
More thanย 5 years of Finance/Accounting experience.
Strongย interpersonal, communication, and negotiationย skills.
Self-motivated withย excellent analyticalย abilities.
Experience withย database querying.
Background inย cost accounting.
