Step into a pivotal role within a dynamic Brand Communications team where your work will directly contribute to maintaining the brand's reputation and amplifying its presence in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. As a key contributor, you will be instrumental in crafting compelling narratives and managing critical communications for a vital business segment, ensuring the brand's story is told authentically and effectively to both internal stakeholders and external media. What You'll Do
  • Research, write, and edit press releases, fact sheets, speaking points, and other essential communications materials.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with media contacts, staying current on industry happenings and trends.
  • Organize and manage assigned projects and events, including coordinating on-site support for special events, photo shoots, interviews, and press conferences.
  • Create and execute strategic public relations plans in collaboration with PR agencies and freelance partners.
  • Actively support communications team brainstorms, contributing innovative ideas to campaigns and initiatives.
  • Provide essential follow-up with employees and partners, answering questions and disseminating crucial public relations information as needed.
  • Handle budget administration, including invoicing, reporting, and finance coordination for communications initiatives.
  • Research media groups and assist your manager in developing and executing effective media outreach strategies.

What We're Looking For
  • 2-4 years of direct communications or public relations experience, ideally within the sports industry and specifically with a focus on running.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent: Masters + 0-3 years experience, Associates + 1-3 years, High School + 3-5 years, or advanced degrees with relevant background).
  • Demonstrated experience writing press releases or other communications materials - candidates should be prepared to provide a sample of their work.
  • Solid grasp of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to be flexible with scheduling and event attendance, including some weekend availability. Travel to events will be required.

Nice to Have
  • Strong knowledge of and a genuine passion for the sport of running.
  • Previous experience working at a PR agency or an event management company.
  • Prior experience in this industry that would enable you to hit the ground running quickly and effectively.
