Position Overview:


The Gaming Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory for trading card games (TCG), tabletop games and related hobby products. This role ensures the store is stocked with products that meet customer demand, aligns with market trends, and drives sales. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about gaming products, analytical in purchasing decisions, and works closely with management and staff to maintain optimal inventory levels and maximize profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Sourcing & Purchasing

  • Research, evaluate, and select gaming products (TCG, tabletop and accessories) based on customer demand and market trends.

  • Manage customer relationships, and negotiate pricing.

  • Monitor inventory levels and accept or refuse products to maintain optimal stock without overstocking.

  • Identify opportunities for exclusive, high-demand, or trending products.

Inventory Management

  • Track sales trends and product performance to guide purchasing decisions.

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases,and inventory levels.

  • Coordinate with store staff to ensure proper stocking, displays, and organization of products.

  • Assist with restocks, returns, and transfers of gaming inventory as needed.

Team Collaboration & Store Support

  • Works closely with the Store Manager and department leads to anticipate customer needs.

  • Provide product knowledge and training support to staff as needed.

Collaborate with management on promotions, and new releases.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of TCGs, tabletop games, and related hobby products.

  • Experience with purchasing, inventory management, or retail buying preferred.

  • Needs to have knowledge of TCG player.

  • Analytical skills and attention to detail for sales data, trends, and inventory decisions.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to collaborate with team members.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the store and warehouse as needed.

  • Ability to lift up to 25โ€“30 lbs. for product handling and restocking.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Retail hobby store environment with office and warehouse tasks.

  • Full-time availability, including occasional evenings or weekends for product launches or events.
