Job description

Position Overview

Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to join our dynamic team. In this full-time, remote position, you will be part of an organization committed to providing intensive in-community therapeutic services specifically designed for children and adolescents grappling with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of families and help guide young individuals towards healthier, more fulfilling lives.

About the Organization

At Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic, we specialize in delivering comprehensive youth and family support services to primary caregivers of children and teens facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our interdisciplinary approach ensures that each child receives personalized care tailored to their specific emotional and psychological needs. We focus not only on treatment but also on empowering families with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities associated with their childโ€™s condition.

Work Environment

This position is designed to be remote, allowing for flexibility while providing therapeutic services. You will have the opportunity to work with families in their home environments, as well as participate in virtual sessions at our outpatient center. We believe that a flexible work environment enhances both the therapist's and the client's experience, allowing for greater accessibility and convenience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or via teletherapy to provide tailored support based on the specific needs of each child and family unit.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on developing crucial skills such as anger management, coping strategies, and social interactions, targeting high-risk behaviors including self-injury and aggression.
  • Assist youth and caregivers in enhancing decision-making skills, offering practical strategies to manage in-home behavioral challenges effectively.
  • Collaborate actively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to each case by integrating insights from multiple disciplines.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and timely submission of forms including intake papers, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with clinic standards.
  • Engage in monthly team meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and propose action plans, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will concentrate on children and adolescents, ages 3 to 20, who display developmental disabilities or intellectual challenges. You will work closely with a diverse population, adapting your techniques to meet the unique cultural and linguistic needs of clients, particularly Spanish and Portuguese-speaking families. Your contributions will directly impact the therapeutic outcomes for these children and their families, aiding in their overall development and quality of life.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is mandatory.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential for practice.
  • A minimum commitment of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with potential availability on weekends.
  • Proficiency in providing positive behavior support strategies as part of therapeutic interventions.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle are required for client visits.
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in providing therapy to children and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in community health settings or clinics that specialize in family therapy is a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese will be considered a valuable asset, enhancing your ability to serve a broader range of families effectively.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 60,000 to 80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, employees can look forward to:

  • A dynamic and supportive work environment that fosters professional excellence.
  • Annual Paid Time Off and Sick Leave to promote work-life balance.
  • Short and long-term disability coverage for peace of mind.
  • 401K retirement plan with company matching contributions.
  • Group health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Access to ongoing job training and professional development opportunities to help you grow in your career.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic, we value your professional growth and are committed to providing opportunities for advancement within the organization. You will be encouraged to engage in continuous education and training programs that enhance your skills and support your career trajectory. Leadership opportunities will be available as you gain experience and showcase your contributions to client outcomes and team dynamics.

Why Join Our Team

Joining Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic means becoming part of a dedicated team that is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families. You will be contributing to meaningful work in a supportive environment, collaborating with like-minded professionals focused on holistic care and individualized support. We celebrate diversity, encourage employee well-being, and aim to create a positive work culture where you can thrive both personally and professionally.
