Job description

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Ranch Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations and development of our ranch and nature programs. Your leadership will ensure that our activities meet the highest standards of safety and quality, aligning with MC's mission and values. The Ranch Coordinator will assist the Ranch Manager in the oversight of ranch facilities, nature facilities, volunteers, animals, and programming while creating a community of inclusion, innovation, teamwork, and safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and safety of ranch programs.
  • Collaborate in curriculum development to meet the educational goals of MC's ranch activities.
  • Lead and manage the ranch program area, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional camper experiences.
  • Supervise program activities in the absence of the Ranch Manager.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of ranch activities and equipment maintenance.
  • Provide daily care for MC animals, ensuring their well-being and health.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA standards, local laws, and MC's safety protocols.
  • Obtain necessary certifications and training for program areas.
  • Support a safe environment through active risk management and safety protocols.
  • Conduct in-service staff trainings and provide ongoing professional development.
  • Foster team morale and dynamics among program staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments and support cross-functional initiatives as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in teaching and caring for animals, with a strong background in ranch operations.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion for our mission and values, with a commitment to integrating them into daily activities.
  • Experience working with special needs populations is advantageous.

Working Conditions:Physical Requirements
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and twisting.
  • Much physical effort is required on a routine basis: the ability to lift 60 pounds is required. Will be occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Frequent, and at times, high level of walking is required.
  • Capable of viewing a computer monitor for long periods.
Environmental Demands
  • This is an outdoor camp environment with constant outdoor activity and exposure to weather.
  • Capable of quickly moving across campus on uneven terrain.
  • A fast-paced office and outdoor environment that requires attending meetings at different off-site locations.

  • The continuous requirement for professional demeanor and appropriate camp staff attire at all times.
