Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage field operations on commercial construction projects in Reno, NV. This role is responsible for supervising job site activities from project start through completion, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and budgets.

The Superintendent will coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, and project teams while maintaining strong communication across all stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in driving project progress, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring successful delivery of construction projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Jobsite Management

  • Manage and direct all job site activities from project start through project completion
  • Supervise field operations including self-performed labor crews and subcontractor activities
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and schedule requirements
  • Maintain daily communication with job foremen and craft personnel to ensure expected production levels

• Subcontractor Coordination

  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee subcontractor work to ensure alignment with project timelines
  • Conduct weekly subcontractor meetings to review schedule performance, safety compliance, and quality control
  • Communicate directly with subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate execution of work and drawings

• Project Schedule & Performance

  • Develop and implement strategies to keep projects on or ahead of schedule and within budget
  • Monitor field productivity and track production for any self-performed work
  • Review RFI status, delays, and additional work requirements that may impact project progress

• Project Communication & Coordination

  • Maintain consistent communication with Project Managers and project teams regarding project issues, schedule changes, or delays
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment between field operations and project management activities
  • Assist with project closeout preparation and participate in closeout meetings prior to project completion

• Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and jobsite regulations
  • Monitor project quality to ensure work meets specifications and industry standards
  • Maintain and implement established procedures and guidelines required for jobsite operations

• Stakeholder Communication

  • Communicate with project stakeholders including owners and public entities when required
  • Represent the project team’s interests while maintaining professional relationships with all parties involved

Qualifications & Requirements

• Required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent with a Commercial General Contractor
  • Strong experience coordinating and scheduling subcontractors on active construction sites
  • Proven ability to manage multiple trades and jobsite operations simultaneously
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage large field teams

• Preferred

  • Experience working on projects including Industrial / Big-Box / Tilt-Up, Office, Education, Retail, Aviation, Medical, Multi-Family, Federal/Municipal, Hospitality, Sports & Recreation, Parking Structures, or Tenant Improvement / Renovation projects
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore
  • Strong knowledge of self-perform concrete work

• Work Environment
