Bollig Engineering is a growing civil engineering firm with offices in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota. We are passionate about rural communities and delivering high-quality, value-driven engineering solutions. We are currently seeking a Civil Project Manager, Aviation & Municipal to join the team on municipal infrastructure and aviation projects across Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, serving as an integral part of a team-centered environment and sharing our passion for developing rural communities. This position is ideally based in our Willmar, Minnesota, or Fargo, North Dakota office, but there is some flexibility on location for the right candidate.

This role suits a seasoned project manager, but it can also be well-suited to an emerging professional with limited formal project management and/or technical experience. A candidate who possesses an exceptional drive to learn, a self-starting attitude, and a strong desire to develop under mentorship can succeed.

Civil Project Manager, Aviation & Municipal โ€“ Job Responsibilities

Help lead aviation project management and airport improvement projects from initial planning through design, funding, construction and project completion

Build and maintain trusted client relationships while collaborating with the Bollig team to understand client goals, address project needs and deliver a positive project experience

Coordinate aviation project schedules, budgets, deliverables and communication to keep projects organized and moving forward

Support airport planning initiatives, including airport master plans, airport layout plans and airport capital improvement plans

Assist clients with airport funding, grant administration, permitting and regulatory coordination for aviation infrastructure projects

Participate in client meetings, airport site visits, design reviews, construction discussions and stakeholder coordination meetings

Coordinate and communicate with airport sponsors, airport managers, agency representatives, consultants, Bollig staff and other project stakeholders

Help prepare proposals, statements of qualifications and presentations for airport commissions and boards, city councils, residents and community stakeholders

Collaborate with Bolligโ€™s municipal services team on client and project management, information gathering, data analysis, reporting and community needs assessments

Represent Bollig professionally as a Civil Project Manager while supporting our commitment to teamwork, strong relationships, continuous improvement and neighbors serving neighbors

Support additional aviation project management, civil engineering and municipal infrastructure projects as needed

Civil Project Manager, Aviation & Municipal โ€“ Qualifications Desired

Associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in civil engineering, project management, construction management, aviation management or a related field preferred

Relevant professional experience may be considered in place of a directly related degree

Experience with project coordination practices, including schedules, budgets, consultant coordination, deliverables and client communication

Ability to build trusted relationships and provide a positive project experience for clients and stakeholders

Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal communication skills

  • This Civil Project Manager position is best suited to be based out of our Willmar, Minnesota, or Fargo, North Dakota, offices, but there is some flexibility on location for the right candidate. Bollig Engineering also has offices in Sartell, Minnesota, Two Harbors, Minnesota, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as well as many remote staff.
  • Travel to airport project sites, client meetings, and community meetings may be required as needed.
